Police in Paterson detained two suspects who they believe fired shots in a section of the city overnight.
According to police, gunfire erupted in the vicinity of 270 19th Avenue, sending police to the scene at approximately 11:10 p.m.
When police arrived, they found evidence that a shooting occurred, but a brief search of the scene indicated no suspects.
Police say several bullets struck a house, but no one inside suffered injuries.
According to reports, police stopped a vehicle on Slayter Street and took two suspects into custody who they believe fired the shots in the residential community. Police say residents gave a description of the suspects and vehicle they occupied.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
