Newark Police are investigating a shooting that caused property damage in the city's South Ward on Sunday afternoon.
It happened around 3:15 p.m. near 7 Earl Street.
Police say an armed suspect fired multiple rounds at unknown targets before fleeing the scene.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found shell casings and a car with bullets holes.
Police say the vehicle was unoccupied, and after they canvassed the area, no victims were located.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
