Brigantine Woman Indicted For Crash That Left Man Dead

According to Brigantine officials, Bao “Joanna” Huynh, 34, of Brigantine was indicted today for vehicular homicide related to a fatal motor vehicle crash after an investigation revealed that she struck and killed a Lindenwold man on Saturday, June 26, 2021.

Vehicular homicide is a 2nd degree offense whereby the defendant recklessly operated a motor vehicle causing the death of Hector Salgado and carries with it a presumed sentenced of up to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison.

Officials say, on June 26, 2021, at 12:17 p.m., Hector Salgado, 54, was killed on Brigantine Blvd. in Brigantine when a van he was loading was struck by a Honda Civic, driven by Huynh.

Subsequent investigation revealed that defendant’s use of numerous drugs caused a state of intoxication and impaired her ability to operate a motor vehicle.

This fatal crash investigation was a cooperative effort by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Crash Investigations Unit and Brigantine Police Department.
