Breezy Thursday in Newark Brings Comfortable Temps, Evening Showers

Newark

By: Richard L. Smith

Newark and the North Jersey region are once again waking up to refreshing, fall-like conditions as the week continues to deliver near-perfect weather for being outdoors.

Good morning and happy Thursday, New Jersey!

If you're up with us at 4:30 a.m., it’s a crisp 65 degrees along Martin Luther King Boulevard and Clinton Avenue in Newark’s South Ward. The early morning chill is comfortable and inviting, perfect for those heading to school or work during the early shift.

But don’t forget, the humidity will begin to creep up today as the air turns breezy. Skies will remain mostly clear through the daylight hours, offering another great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. Later tonight, however, Mother Nature may give our dry region a bit of relief.

According to the National Weather Service, we can expect:

Today: Patchy fog before 8 a.m. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 81 degrees. A light south wind will shift southeast and increase to 9 to 14 mph by late morning, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Tonight: Showers likely, with a chance of thunderstorms before 2 a.m., then scattered showers into the night. The low will be around 66 degrees.

Enjoy this mix of sunshine and refreshing air before rain arrives tonight — a much-needed watering for our lawns and gardens.

Have a great Thursday, NJ!
