We are waking up to a mild start across Newark and the North Jersey region this morning, with gusty winds expected to build as the day moves along.
Good Wednesday morning, Jersey! It is currently 55 degrees in Newarkâs West Ward, and while temperatures are expected to climb into the 70s this afternoon, strong winds will likely make it feel a bit cooler at times.
According to the National Weather Service, skies will remain mostly cloudy today with a high near 75 degrees.
South winds around 7 to 12 mph this morning will increase to 13 to 18 mph this afternoon, with gusts that could reach as high as 31 mph.
Tonight, showers are expected to develop, with a chance of thunderstorms after 2 a.m.
Overnight lows will fall to around 55 degrees. Winds will remain breezy out of the south at 6 to 15 mph, with gusts near 29 mph.
The chance of rain is 80 percent, with locally heavier downpours possible in thunderstorms.
