BREAKING UPDATE: 17-Year-Old Among Five Injured in Paterson Mass Shooting

Passaic County officials are reporting about five individuals shot in a mass shooting in Paterson on Sunday morning. 

RLS Media initially reported that two victims were injured after a gunman sprayed the vicinity of Essex and Straight streets with about 37 rounds of bullets just before 4:40 a.m. 

Police located a potential crime scene and a 25-year-old male Haledon, New Jersey resident, who sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound.

The victim was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.

Shortly thereafter, members of the Paterson Police Department were advised that a 17-year-old juvenile, a 19-year-old male Paterson resident, a 30-year-old male Paterson resident, and a 19-year-old male Paterson resident arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey, seeking treatment for non-fatal gunshot wounds.

Based on the preliminary investigation, the victims were in the area of Madison Street and Essex Street in Paterson, New Jersey, when they were shot.

Officials said all the victims are in stable condition and the suspects fled the scene and remained at large. 

The motive for the attack is under investigation.
