The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office is on the scene of a shooting with one person dead in Paterson.
According to police, at approximately 7:54 p.m., gunfire rang out in the vicinity of Van Houten and Summer Streets.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found two victims suffering multiple bullet wounds at that location.
Police say one of the victims was pronounced dead a short time later.
The second victim was rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital in stable condition.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
No arrests have been made.
