An urgent citywide request for additional police has been called as a crowd is growing from a shooting with two victims struck at this time on Newark's Ironbound section at this time.
Police say a gunman fired multiple times in the area of 172 Pacific Street around 7 p.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, they asked EMS to ‘put a push on it’ after they found two victims struck by bullets.
The victims’ condition has not been confirmed at this time.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
UPDATE 7:42 pm : Both victims are suffering life threatening injuries. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office has been notified.
