In a devastating incident that unfolded early this morning, the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit swiftly responded to a harrowing crash on Paterson Plank Road in Jersey City.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office said the collision occurred at approximately 12:50 a.m. and involved multiple fatalities and injuries.
As emergency responders rushed to the scene, they encountered a grim sight.
Several victims were trapped inside a severely damaged vehicle, their injuries severe.
Tragically, at least two individuals were pronounced dead at the scene, while approximately five others were rushed to nearby hospitals for urgent medical attention.
The circumstances surrounding this wreck are under an active investigation to determine its cause.
Authorities urge the public to avoid the area as they work to piece together the events leading to this tragic accident.
