BREAKING: Serious Injuries Reported in Early Morning Multi-Alarm Building Fire in Passaic

Firefighters are on the scene of a massive fire that's burning out of control from a building in a section of Passaic at this time. 

According to preliminary information from the scene, a heavy fire ripped through the roof of a three-story mix-used building in the 70's block of 4th Street at approximately 4:10 a.m. 

When dozens of firefighters arrived at the scene, they found heavy fire showing from the building with reports of trapped occupants inside. 

Fire commanders at the scene activated as many as four alarms for manpower as crews beat down flames in an attempt to get inside the building to rescue occupants. 

As of 5:32 a.m., crews from several municipalities assisted Passaic firefighters and the blaze had not been placed under control. 

The extent of the victims' injuries could not immediately be confirmed.
