BREAKING REPORT; Newark Police Lieutenant Fatally Shoots Estranged Wife in Jefferson Township

The Morris County Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into a shooting that caused fatal injuries in a section in Jefferson Township during the overnight hours.

Authorities have not released an official statement on the incident but according to published reports from NBC-TV NYC reporter Mr. Brian Thompson sources confirmed to him that an unidentified Newark Police Lt. went to estranged wife’s home in Jefferson Twp. and is now accused of shooting and killing her.

RLS Media has obtained an address of the incident as 1 Mirror Place and reports are coming in that at least two children were inside the resident but were not injured during the shooting.

Reporter Brian Thompsom said The Newark Police Lt. then opened fire on his ex-wife's boyfriend who is in critical condition.

The Newark police officer/suspect was arrested early this morning in Livingston, according to Thompson.

The names of the officer or the victim has not been released at this time.
