One person was pronounced dead at the scene of a double shooting in Newark’s Central Ward Saturday evening.
Police responded to reports of shots fired near the intersection of Spruce Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard around 5:15 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found two victims suffering gunshot wounds.
One of the victims was rushed to University Hospital suffering life-threatening bullet wounds.
Police are looking for the suspects who fled the scene in a dark-colored 4-door Mercedes with temp tags.
Authorities believe a long gun and a handgun were used in the shooting. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office has been notified.
