BREAKING NEWARK: Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle in Downtown Newark

Police and investigators are on the scene of a pedestrian strike that has one person dead at this time.

The incident happened at around 6:35 a.m. in the 100 block of Mulberry Street (Downtwon Newark) where emergency responders rushed to the scene after receiving several reports of a person that was struck by a vehicle at that location.

Arriving crews found the victim laying in the street suffering serious injuries.

The victim was pronounced dead a short time later.

In two other pedestrian strikes that happened in the city, police were called to the southbound side of Rt. 21 near South Street at around 11:15 p.m. where they located one person suffering serious injuries after being struck by a car according to authorities.

The victim was rushed to University Hospital where their injuries were reported to be serious according to officials.

On Thursday evening at around 9:30 p.m., a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Rector Street and McCarter Highway sent emergency responders to the scene where the victim suffered "massive head injuries" according to reports.

The victim was taken to University Hospital where their injuries was reported as critical.

Police are looking into all three incidents.
