BREAKING NEWARK NJ: Police Search for Suspects Responsible for Multiple Gas Station Robberies

There is a city wide search for suspects that have committed multiple armed robberies of gas stations and of at least one individual who was walking to work this morning in the city.

At around 7:30 am, police began a search for two black male suspects (who were armed with guns) when they ordered cash from an Exxon gas station located in the 1400 block of McCarter Highway then robbed a second gas station in the 200 block of Park Ave. immediately afterwards.

The men are occupying a 4-door black 2006 Infinity "Z59-FEV". This vehicle was reportedly carjacked out of East Orange on Park Ave. The men are considered armed and dangerous.

Shortly before 8 a.m., police said two black male suspects robbed a gas station in the 60's block of Bloomfield Ave. and a second gas station in the 1400 block of McCarter Highway (This is the second armed robbery of the Sunoco gas station at 1400 McCarter Highway this week).

The final gas station, located at 1437 McCarter Highway, was reportedly robbed a little after 8 a.m. along with at least one person who was walking to work.

There was an armed robbery of a gas station reported in the 500 block of Grove Street in Irvington during this time frame on Wedensday.

It is not immediately clear if the same suspects committed all of the robberies.

Police have located a vehicle that match the description as the wanted vehicle at a location in the North Ward.

It is not known if this vehicle is the suspected car used in the armed robberies.
