The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office are on the scene of the shooting that resulted in a fatality in Newark this evening.
According to preliminary reports, gunfire rang out in the 100 block of Hobson Street at around 10 p.m. sending police to the scene where they found a male victim struck by gunfire.
Medical personnel pronounced the victim died a short time later.
There is a crime scene established and an investigation underway. Avoid the area for the investigation.
There are no arrests reported.
