BREAKING NEWARK NJ: Dog Attacks Several Kids, Adult Near School in Newark

A dog that was seen roaming near a Newark North Ward school attacked several students and at least one adult a short time ago.

This is what Newark Police officials are confirming with RLS Metro Morning crew, at approximately 8 a.m. today, police responded to Elwood Avenue and Broadway on a call of a dog running loose.

Preliminary reports indicate that three children and one adult suffered non-life threatening wounds from dog bite according to police.

Residents in the area who contacted our staff told us that the dog is a German Shepard and police have secured the animal.

There are no official reports that the dog made its way into the Luiz Munoz Marin Middle School.

The children’s wounds are reportedly superficial officials say.

The dog is currently with its owner at the scene and Animal Control has been notified Newark Police officials said.
