Newark Police officers chased down several suspects who were wanted for a string of armed robberies that occurred in Irvington Township.
According to preliminary reports, police spotted a vehicle in the city's South Ward wanted by Irvington authorities for armed robberies in the township this afternoon.
When officers tried to pull the driver over, about five suspects bailed from the car in the vicinity of Pennsylvania Avenue and Wright Street just before 2 p.m.
Police nabbed three of the suspects after a brief foot pursuit but two others remain at-large according to reports.
They are wanted for robbing two people at gunpoint on 21st Street in Irvington and several others in the township.
Police are trying to determine if the suspects are wanted for an incident at the Investors Bank of Hillside.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
