Firefighters are on the scene of a fire that's tearing through a large multi-family building in Newark at this time.
According to preliminary reports, firefighters rushed to the 300 block of Sussex Avenue after they received reports of a building fire with possible trapped occupants at approximately 5:30 a.m.
Crews arrived at the scene and found flames tearing through the roof of a three-story building with smoke billowing from the structure according to fire officials.
Firefighters are operating in an exterior attack mode as they attempt to bring this blaze under control at this time.
There are no injuries reported as of 6:05 a.m.
