BREAKING NEWARK: Firefighters Battle House Fire in Newark's North Ward; Injuries

**UPDATE 8:00AM Confirmed Fatal Fire; 1 male is dead**

There are injuries reported for at least one person who was trapped inside a burning house in the city's North Ward this morning.

Details are preliminary, but according to reports, at around 5:55 a.m. police responded to the vicinity of 388 Summer Avenue after receiving several 911 calls of fire with a trapped person.

Upon arrival, crews observed flames shooting from a two and a half house at that location.

Firefighters began to beat down the flames until they entered the house to search for the victim according to reports.

One person jumped from the second floor of the burning house and suffered injuries.

As of 6:05 a.m., fire officials have not placed the blaze under control.

**UPDATE: 6:10am** There are other injuries reported. We can not confirm the severity at this time.
