Emergency responders are rushing a seriously injured person to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash caused a truck to overturn and a car to fall over 50 feet off of the highway in Newark.
The crash happened around 4 p.m. on Route 1&9 northbound near the ramp to I-78 west.
Police have not reported what caused the crash but the driver of the car that fell off of the highway suffered serious injuries.
Emergency responders from The Newark Fire Department, NJ State Police, Port Authority Police and University Hospital EMS and all assisted in the operation.
The NJ State Police will lead the investigation.
