Essex County Authorities have made an arrest in a violent shooting that occurred in the heart of Newark’s business district on Tuesday morning.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Mr. Jahid Nelson, 21, was taken into custody and charged with murdering a Newark resident.
Officials say the suspect was captured at the Garden State Motel in Union.
According to a statement released by authorities, Tuesday at approximately 9:44 am Mr. Terrence J. Wilson, 26, of Newark was shot in the 100 block of Market Street.
Officials say Wilson was transported to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:04 am.
