BREAKING: Multiple Victims Injured in Paterson Neighborhood Shooting

The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office leads the investigation into a violent shooting encounter that injured multiple victims in a Patrson neighborhood on Saturday.

Over 15 Rounds of gunfire that registered on a ShotSpotter device rushed  Paterson Police to the area of 14th Avenue and East 22nd Street shortly before 12:50 a.m. 

When cops arrived on the scene, they found at least one person suffering severe injuries and shell casings on the ground from what appeared to be an exchange of gunfire between one or more individuals. 

Officers patrolling  the area reportedly pulled over a speeding car with two victims suffering bullet wounds inside.

Authorities believe the victims inside the vehicle attempted to go to the hospital for treatment. 

Shooting

During the investigation, officials at St. Joseph's Hospital  reported a fourth person who entered the emergency room suffering bullet wounds. 

Police say this individual was shot at the 22nd Street crime scene. 

None of the injured were reported to be fatalities as of 3:30 a.m. The motive for the shooting is under an active and ongoing investigation.
