BREAKING: Multi-Alarm Fire Destroys House in Irvington Township

Irvington Township

Firefighters in Irvington battled an early morning fire that destroyed a home in the township Saturday.

Officials said at approximately 3:25 a.m., firefighters rushed to the 40's block of Adams Street after receiving reports of a house fire.

Upon arrival, crews began to stretch multiple lines after finding a two-and-a-half-story wood-framed house fully involved in flames.

According to officials, a second and third alarm was activated for additional manpower when flames began to extend to neighboring homes and the fire destroyed at least two cars.

At approximately 3:55 a.m., officials say four buildings were involved in the stubborn blaze.

Firefighters are competing with strong winds pushing fire and embers to nearby homes and the blaze has not been placed under control.

There are no physical injuries reported as of 4:05 a.m.
