BREAKING: Massive Fire Engulfs Industrial Complex Near Jersey Gardens Mall in Elizabeth

Union County firefighters are on the scene of a formidable blaze at an industrial complex just south of Jersey Gardens Mall in Elizabeth. 

Ice CreamThis is a historic complex once known as the Singer Sewing Factory. 

The fire, which broke out around 5:30 a.m. at 106 Trumbull Street, quickly escalated, leading emergency responders to call for a three-alarm response.

Upon arrival, firefighters were met with intense flames engulfing a significant portion of the massive complex.

The situation rapidly deteriorated, with the fire being declared out of control.

In response to the growing emergency, crews deployed multiple lines to battle the blaze. However, their efforts were complicated by embers from the fire, posing a threat to nearby structures.

Authorities have closed off a section of Trumbull Street to facilitate firefighting efforts.

As of 6:25 a.m., the situation intensified, prompting officials to issue a fourth alarm, calling for additional manpower to tackle the inferno.

Currently, the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Fortunately, there have been no reports of severe injuries related to the incident.
