BREAKING IRVINGTON TOWNSHIP NJ: Two-Alarm Fire Tears Through Multi-Family Building in Irvington

Firefighters are on the scene of a large fire that's tearing through a multi-family two-story building in Irvington Township at this time.

According to preliminary reports, several 911 calls notified fire officials of flames coming from a residence located at 795 Chancellor Avenue just before 1:30 p.m.

Fast responding crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames tearing through the roof of the structure according to on the scene reports.

Firefighters performed an exterior attack as heany fire began to engulf the house and extend to neighboring homes.

Mutual aid from The Maplewood Township Fire Department are on the scene assisting irvington Fire crews.

Firefighters brought the fire under control just before 2:30 p.m. with the cause under investigation.

There are no injuries reported at this time.
