BREAKING IRVINGTON TOWNSHIP NJ: Officer-Involved Shooting Under Investigation in Irvington

There is a large crime scene in a neighborhood in Irvington where police have the area locked down due to an officer-involved shooting at this time.

Details regarding this incident are pending but according to preliminary reports, there were over two dozen rounds fired in the vicinity of 18th Avenue and Myrtle at around 11:35 a.m. with at least firing his weapon but an unknown amount of time.

There are confirmed injuries for at least one person but we can NOT confirm if an officer is down at this time.

UPDATE 11:55 This is a confirmed officer down from the Irvington Township Police Department. The Officer has a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg. The suspect is dead.
