Investigators are on the scene looking into a multi-car crash that fatally injured one person in Irvington Township this morning -Tuesday-.
Details regarding the incident are continuing to develop, but according to preliminary reports, the crash happened before 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of Maple and Springfield avenues **-just outside the old Marshall Apartments-** where witnesses say three cars somehow collided causing one of the vehicles to strike a pedestrian who was walking in the area.
At least one unidentified person reportedly suffered fatal injuries.
There are reports that one of the three vehicles fled the scene immediately after striking the pedestrian.
Investigators from The Essex County Prosecutor's Office are on the scene handling assisting in the investigation.
