BREAKING: Fatal Shooting in Newark's North Ward Under Investigation by Essex County Homicide Unit

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit is currently investigating a deadly shooting that occurred in Newark's North Ward.

The incident took place in the 300 block of Broadway, a location that residents have noted for escalating criminal activities, including open-air drug transactions.

AdRLS Media has confirmed with county officials that the investigation is centered around a male victim.

The circumstances leading to his death are still unclear, with law enforcement actively working to uncover who is responsible and the motive behind the shooting.

According to reports from residents, early Tuesday morning, police were called to the scene after receiving reports of an unconscious person outside a vehicle.

Upon arrival, they discovered the male victim, who appeared to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

AdWhile the cause of death is still under investigation by the Essex County Prosecutor's Homicide Task Force, no official motive for the shooting has been confirmed by authorities yet.

This incident has heightened concerns among local residents about safety in the area.

While deadly encounters have significantly decreased in Essex County, residents across all wards have experienced a surge in shooting incidents, particularly in the last 2 to 3 weeks.
