Wicked weather with strong wind and lightning strikes that's currently passing over Union County has knocked power out to thousands in Elizabeth at this time.
According to Elizabeth city officials, residents were alerted that several circuits have been disrupted and is causing a loss of power to a large portion of the city.
City officials said utility crews from PSEG is headed to the scene, but they do not have an estimated time for restoration.
