BREAKING ELIZABETH NJ: Fatal Car Fire Reported in Elizabeth


Firefighters are on the scene of a vehicle fire with one person fatally injured at this time in Elizabeth.

Fire broke out in a vehicle that was parked on the side of a warehouse located at 1111 Jefferson Avenue shortly before 3 p.m. sending firefighters to the scene where at least one person was pulled from the vehicle fatally injured according to reports.

There are little details available at this time.

**UPDATE 4:16 p.m.** The victim is a male and reported to be around 60-years-old. He may have had a medical condition that resulted in a crash before the fire reports said.

**UPDATE 5:04 p.m.** Authorities statement: "It's confirmed that an unknown motorist was driving in Elizabeth and due to unknown circumstances he crashed, and the car did catch fire. He was on the border of Elizabeth and Newark. Elizabeth Fire Department took care of the fire, but the incident is determined to have occurred in Newark".

Newark is now handling the investigation.
