BREAKING ELIZABETH NJ: Double Shooting Reported in Elizabeth Neighborhood

Police have a crime scene established in a neighborhood in Elizabeth as they investigate a shooting that injured two victims this evening.

According to preliminary reports, gunfire rang out in the vicinity of 1081 Bond Street at approximately 8:10 p.m. where police arrived at the scene and found a male victim suffering a gunshot wound to the chest at that location.

While police were securing the scene and requesting EMS for the victim, officials at the Trinitas Hospital contacted police officials alerting them of a person who was dropped off at the emergency department suffering bullet wounds.

Police detained the driver of that vehicle but are looking for a burgundy colored car that sped from the scene immediately after the shooting.

Police have not released the condition of both victims.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
