BREAKING ELIZABETH: Firefighters Battle Raging 4-Alarm House Fire in Elizabeth

A raging 4-alarm house fire in Elizabeth had firefighters from around the county responding to the scene.

Heavy fire broke out at a three-story newly built - unoccupied - home on the 70's block of Marshall Street sometime around 4:20 p.m.

Crews arrived to heavy smoke condition that could reportedly be seen from blocks away.

The stubborn flames ultimately spread throughout the home causing damage to both homes on either side.

Despite the extremely frigid temperatures and heavy winds, the fire was placed under control sometime after 6:30 p.m.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
