There are severe injuries reported for at least one person who was inside a burning house in East Orange this afternoon.
According to ro preliminary reports, firefighters rushed to the 40's block of or Wayne Place at approximately 4 p.m. after receiving reports of a house fire.
Crews arrived to find thick smoke billowing from the two and a half story wood-framed house with occupants trapped inside.
Officials say one person was rescued from top floor od the home using a stoke basket. A cat was also removed from the residence as firefighters battled the blaze.
The victim was rushed to an area hospital in serious condition.
As of 4:35 p.m, fire officials have not placed the blaze under control.
