BREAKING EAST ORANGE NJ: Building Collapses in East Orange

Emergency responders are on the scene of a building collapse on a street in East Orange at this time.

According to preliminary reports, police and firefighters were called to the intersection of Williams Street and North Arlington at approximately 5:10 PM to investigate reports of a structure collapse with possible trapped victims.

Upon arrival, firefighters observed that a large portion of the side of a four-story brick building fell to the ground.

An initial search of the debris indicated no trapped victims and it appeared that the structure was unoccupied and under construction. Newark Firefighters arrived at the scene to assist in a thorough search.

The cause of the collapse is under investigation.
