In Newark’s third confirmed carjacking, police are on the search for a 5’7” tall black male last seen wearing a t-shirt and navy blue shorts who stole a vehicle from a woman at gunpoint today.
According to police, the suspect approached the woman in the area of 596 South 12th Street at approximately 1:40 p.m. and demanded her green Jeep Cherokee.
Police say the victim’s black Chihuahua was inside the vehicle during a carjacking.
According to police, the suspect has dreads and is considered armed.
There were no physical injuries reported.
