BREAKING CRANFORD NJ: Three-Alarm House Fire Kills One in Cranford

Union County Fire officials are investigating a fire that killed one person in a house in Cranford this afternoon.

According to preliminary reports, firefighter were called to 43 Brookdale Place at approximately 3:05 p.m. investigate reports of a fire with trapped occupants.

Units arrived at the scene observed flames coming from the two and a half story wood framed house according to officials.

Crews were able to gain entry into the house where they found an unconscious and unresponsive female inside the structure.

Medical personnel provided life-saving techniques but they were not able to save the victim.

Firefighters knocked the fire down in less than an hour with no extensions or any other injuries reported.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
