BREAKING: 12 Minor Injuries in Hillside Senior Citizen Bus Crash

There are multiple victims reportedly injured in a crash that involved a bus this morning in Hillside.

According to a primary report, police and EMS rushed to the victory of 1310 Central Avenue after receiving reports of a crash with injuries.

Once police arrived on the scene, they found a car and a minibus collided at that location just before 9:50am .

Police secured the area while EMS transported the victims to area hospitals. The bus is a senior citizen transportation vehicle from Hillside.

**HPD UPDATE: 11:10 a.m.** At 9:22 AM the Hillside Senior Citizen Bus was struck at the intersection of Long and Central Avenues by a four-door Hyundai Sonata.

The preliminary investigation determined the driver of the Hyundai disregarded the stop sign at Long Avenue as the bus was traveling south on Central Avenue.

The car then struck the rear right side of the bus near the bumper, causing the bus driver to lose control and strike a nearby utility pole.

Twelve passengers were transported to area hospitals with apparent minor injuries or as a precautionary measure.

There were no injuries to the driver of the Hyundai. The bus is currently unable to be moved due to the live electrical wires of the utility pole laying on the bus.
