The Boys and Girls Club of Newark is holding its annual 5K Race to Wellness on September 17.
This race is held to raise money to support the Wellness department for the Boys and Girls Club and help them to serve more of Newark's youth and their families.
Some of the services that are run under the wellness program include
- Dental Services - Screenings & Exams
- Oral Health Education
- Nutritional Counseling
- Vision Services - Screenings, Exams, & Eyeglasses
- Sports & Fitness
- Social and Emotional Health Support
The youth can also learn to swim in their Junior Olympic swimming pool, remain fit in their gymnasium and dance studio, and receive the care and support of adult mentors who will ensure they can be great.
The run will be held at Branch Brook Park at Cherry Blossom Welcome Center. Anyone interested can sign up here and donations can be made here.
