Boy Loses Part of His Finger, Seeking $1M From Trenton School District

Trenton

According to reports, middle school student, Zaphier Reed, of Trenton intends to sue the school district for $1 million after losing part of his pinky.

The tort claim notice reports that the Grace Dunn Middle School student was injured after being pushed by a girl while his hand was on a locker Oct. 6.

Brandon Broderick, Reed's attorney, says the boy had to undergo surgery to partially reattach the right pinky finger that was severed.

Reed had to not only miss school but attend physical therapy sessions, and routine doctor's appointments, according to his mother, Jessica Trotman.

Broderick suggests the incident was caused by the school district's careless and negligent maintainence of the property.
