Police pulled the body of an unidentified person from a vehicle in Newark's North Ward on Monday afternoon.
The incident happened at around 3:30 p.m. on Herbert Place where police responded to the area after receiving reports of a possible injured person.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers observed an SUV parked on the street with an unconscious person inside.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office could not immediately confirm suspicious activities in regards to the incident.
