Body Recovered from Passaic River in Harrison

A body was discovered floating in the Passaic River early Monday morning near the Harrison-Newark border, prompting an active investigation now being led by the New Jersey State Police.

Emergency responders from Harrison were dispatched around 8:00 a.m. to the area of Harrison Avenue and Passaic Avenue after receiving reports of a person spotted in the river. 

 

Upon arrival, first responders located the body of an unidentified individual floating in the water.

 

Harrison Police officials confirmed the incident but referred all inquiries to the New Jersey State Police, who have taken over the case.

As of Tuesday morning, authorities had not released any details regarding the identity of the individual or the circumstances leading up to the discovery.

 

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials have not yet confirmed whether foul play is suspected. No additional information has been made public.
