Emergency rescue crews recovered the body of a man from the Passaic River earlier this afternoon in Newark.
According to a brief statement from Newark Police officials, The State Regional Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death for the unidentified male who was spotted floating in the river near the 100 block of Riverside Avenue just before 1 p.m.
Police have launched an investigation into the findings.
The person has not been identified at this time.
