Body Found in Glen Ridge Identified as 47-Year-Old Montclair Man

Authorities today released the identity of the body that was found around 5 p.m. in a wooded area at George Washington field in Glen Ridge.

Katherine Carter, a spokeswoman for the Essex County Proscutor’s Office said that the body found last night was that of 47-year-old Curtis E. Dandridge III of Montclair.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of death as well as the circumstance surrounding Dandrige’s death.

“The preliminary investigations indicate there are no signs of foul play but we are awaiting the autopsy results,” she said.

Officials from the Glen RidgeSchools district sent this announcement to parents yesterday:

"This evening, at half-time at the JV Soccer Game at George Washington field, a parent found an unresponsive body in the wooded area. The game officials immediately called 911, and the police are currently conducting an investigation.”

The game was cancelled and all in attendance left the area.
