The body of Thomas Andresen -captain of El Jefe - was recovered this afternoon according to authorities.
The fishing boat he captain of a fishing boat that sank earlier this week in the Ambrose Channel was recovered Friday afternoon, authorities said.
A search for the 40-foot boat began Tuesday evening. Wednesday morning the ship was located close to shore near Buoy 14 in the Sandy Hook Channel by State Police divers.
After a search, Andresen, who was reportedly the only one aboard was, was not located. Thursday, State Police divers same 75 feet of water to the boat to continue the search but yet again returned empty.
Today however, a private dive team retrieved Andresen's body.
