Blustery Winds Take Center Stage in Newark, North Jersey Today

Good Tuesday morning, Newark and North Jersey! As we kick off the day, the weather headline is the wind, making its presence felt across the region.

Newark wakes up to 38 degrees, but strong gusts are driving the wind chill to below freezing, creating a brisk and chilly start to the day.

According to the National Weather Service, the winds are gusting between 28 and 32 mph and are expected to persist throughout the day.

The forecast calls for:

  • Today: A slight chance of snow showers between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., followed by mostly sunny skies. The high will be near 40 degrees, but the wind chill will make it feel much colder. Northwest winds will range from 11 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 39 mph.
  • Tonight: Another slight chance of snow showers is expected between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. The night will be mostly cloudy, with temperatures holding steady around 32 degrees.
