Newark emergency responders rushed to the city’s West Ward late Thursday night after a bicyclist was struck by a vehicle.
The collision was reported shortly after 11 p.m. near 294 South 7th Street, where firefighters and EMS crews arrived to find a crash involving a car and bicycle.
The bicyclist was treated at the scene before being transported by EMS to an area hospital for further treatment.
The extent of the victim’s injuries has not been confirmed at this time.
Authorities have not immediately released additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding the collision or whether any summonses were issued.
The incident remains under investigation.
