Law enforcement officials in Bergen County reported the arrest of Mr. Michael T. Scheuerman, 40, of East Rutherford, on the charges of possession of child sexual abuse material.
Prosecutor Mark Musella said on Thursday, April 6, Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit members executed a search warrant at the residence of Scheuerman during an Explicit Internet Images of Minors investigation.
According to Prosecutor Musella, the investigation revealed that Scheuerman used the Internet to view, download and possess items depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent minors.
The investigation resulted in Scheuerman being arrested on Thursday, April 6, 2023, in Paramus.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
