Bergen County Director Accused of Driving Drunk Suspended Without Pay

The 48-year-old Bergen County director of safety and security charged with driving drunk has been suspended without pay, according to police.

According to police, officers responded at 4:15 p.m. to a report of an erratic driver near Franklin Avenue and Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland Lt. Chris Eldridge said.

Upon arrival, police discovered a black Ford Explorer, driven by Michael Bradley, of Wayne, had struck a mailbox on Franklin, cause in damage to his vehicle.

Bradley was taken into custody and charged with driving while drunk, having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle, among other charges.

According to Bergen County Executive James Tedesco, Bradley was immediately suspended Tuesday without pay.

Bradley was arrested and later released. He's scheduled to appear in court on March 2 in Oakland Municipal Court.
