The boys from Bayonne are keeping their incredible summer alive, giving New Jersey baseball fans another reason to celebrate.
Bayonne Little League picked up another big victory Friday, defeating West Chester, Pennsylvania, 3-1 in the Little League World Series in Williamsport.
According to information reported by ABC7 Eyewitness News, Bayonne remains in the winners bracket following Friday’s victory and will face Davenport Northwest of Iowa on Sunday at 1 p.m. (ABC7 New York)
Bayonne jumped ahead with some timely hitting, including an RBI single from Joey Dwyer. Mason Rincon continued his impressive tournament by sending a home run over the center-field fence in the fourth inning, providing an insurance run for New Jersey. (ABC7 New York)
The victory was Bayonne’s second straight in Williamsport and extended the team’s overall winning streak to 15 games.
Earlier this week, the boys won their first-ever Little League World Series game with a dramatic 2-1 walk-off victory over Bridgewater, Massachusetts. (New York Post)
What a summer it has been for these young players.
From Bayonne to Williamsport, they continue to represent Hudson County and the entire Garden State with determination, teamwork and plenty of heart.
