Ballistics Recovered in Newark South Ward Shots Fired Incident

Police taped off a section of Newark's South Ward as detectives investigated a shooting that erupted in that part of the city on Sunday night.

It happened around 10:50 p.m. in the vicinity of 390 Clinton Place.

Police say residents reported gunfire and that they saw a male suspect run from the scene. Officers arrived and searched the area and found shell casings, but no injuries were reported after police canvassed the scene.

Newark Police haven't determined the motive for the shooting and no arrests have been made.
